Dr. Wendt moved back to Houston to attend the University of Texas School of Dentistry where she received her DDS degree. Dr. Wendt loves working with patients of all ages and loves building relationships with her patients. Patients love her approachable demeanor and sense of humor.

Dr. Katie Stuchlik DDS

Dr. Katie Stuchlik

Dr. Katie Stuchlik (pronounced “stew-click”) grew up in Houston, Texas and graduated from The University of Texas at Austin. There she obtained degrees in Human Development and Radio-Television-Film, all the while serving as the University’s costumed mascot, Hook ‘Em. After realizing her lifelong goal of editing films for Adam Sandler would never come to fruition, she decided to pursue a career in something completely unrelated but equally as satisfying- dentistry. After graduating college, she spent time working in a research lab at Baylor College of Medicine. Dr. Stuchlik then entered the University of Texas School of Dentistry in Houston, where she graduated with her Doctorate of Dental Surgery degree.

While in dental school, she served in several leadership positions within the American Student Dental Association. Upon graduating dental school, Katie was honored with the International College of Dentists’ Leadership Award. She continues her involvement with dental organizations to gain knowledge and grow as a leader in the community. Dr. Stuchlik was awarded the 2020 Texas New Dentist of the Year, an award given to one general dentist in Texas who has graduated within 7 years.

Dr. Stuchlik is a proud member of the:

  • Academy of General Dentistry
  • American Dental Association
  • Texas Dental Association
  • Greater Houston Dental Society
  • Member of International Congress of Oral Implantologists (ICOI)

Dr. Stuchlik serves the community by participating in several volunteer events. She is an active member of the Junior League of Houston, where her current volunteer placement is at Kids’ Meals in Garden Oaks. She also participates in events such as Texas Mission of Mercy (TMOM) and Veterans Smile Day; those entities provide free dental care to those in need. In her free time, Dr. Stuchlik enjoys being a new mom to Lillian Kate and spending time with her husband, Ben, and their mini Australian Shepherd, Rex.

Meet our Team

Chris Depew - Dental Assistant

Chris Depew, RDA

Chris is from beautiful Loveland, CO, but got to Houston about as fast as he could. He received a BA in linguistics from Brigham Young University in 2016 and worked for a bit as a Spanish-speaking medical interpreter at hospital systems in Utah. After that, he decided to go into dental assisting, with the eventual goal of becoming a dentist. He attended Practical Dental Assisting of Utah in 2017 and worked at a small office in Provo, UT. In July 2018 he moved to Houston so he could start prerequisite classes for dental school. Chris joined the Dentistry of the Oaks team in January of 2019, and hasn’t looked back since. He loves being able to help patients feel comfortable in the dentist’s chair and helping someone feel better about their smile and oral health. Working with Dr. Wendt and Dr. Stuchlik is a pleasure, and he would trust either of them with his teeth any day of the week. When he’s not running the back office you’ll find him cycling around town with his 35mm cameras, scuba diving, or trying new recipes while his cat judges over his shoulder.
